Hey, I’m Cindy. I’m the face behind and the eye within the camera.

As a kid I always dreamt of having a roll of film inside my head and being able to take pictures by blinking. I walked around doing that a lot, and often thought for hours about how the developed photo would appear, back then the concept of intangible, ‘I’m not holding anything’, digital images were not a reality.
So, the solution often went from the print coming out my mouth like a polaroid, to the film dropping out my ear, ready to be taken to my local chemist for development.
The mind of a child…

Now as the mother to three gorgeous kids, I connect to their imagination and the spoon being a doctor’s instrument and the block being a phone. And I love nothing more than spying in on a game of make-believe. Of course, if we happen to make eye contact, I have to look away quickly and pretend to be extremely busy, as nothing ruins the world of make-believe like a mother smiling proudly from the sidelines. Spoil sports.

So with these three gorgeous souls constantly hanging out with me, I’m often asked if I take a million pictures of them. I don’t, so I say no. Then they inevitably say something about the cobbler’s children having no shoes, and we laugh and laugh and laugh.
But the truth is this is no laughing matter. Having pictures of my kids and my family is extremely important to me and I am an avid photoshoot booker.
Yes, I too take the constant cell phone pictures, where I’m yelling at them to ‘look here!’ but really, what do I do with them besides looking through them at the end of the day when I’m exhausted and had enough of my kids. I sit on the couch, oooh and aaah over them and miss my babies, even though 10 minutes earlier they were all screaming and running around like lunatics, aaah parenthood, something no one can ever explain to you, you only get it once you’re living it (and then there’s no going back :) )
Anyway, sorry, where was I. Oh yes, photos! So, of course I upload these cellphone images onto the cloud, they’re so precious to me and I want to freeze our everyday moments forever. I’m keeping them for the future but right now they’re not here in my life. They’re not up on my husband’s office wall or in our lounge. The pictures that are there though are the ones I had taken of all of us together. While on the beach in Cape Town, out in Yafo, and in the forest of Harish (our new beautiful city in Israel).
Those planned moments where we stop, take a second out of our lives and say this is us now. Time frozen. And when I walk down my passage, coffee cup in hand and the images on the wall catch my eye, I smile and not only see how my
